I'm in Beijing now at the Courtyard Marriott. The flight here was good, but long. I did get a bit of sleep in. The air quality here in China is terrible. The visibility is terrible, about as bad as when Berkeley is covered in fog. I guess it is fairly common here in winter. I've never experienced anything like it before. Not in Mexico City and not the last time in was in Beijing.

Today I'm going to take it easy and do some touristy stuff, tomorrow I'm planning to hike a section of the wall.

I got a chinese cell phone, and I can receive calls and text messages on it. I don't seem to be able to send text messages yet. The number is +85 135 204 180 62, feel free to give me a call. Cheapest way is probably to use Skype.
